Why Apple Chose Intel: The Octagonal Truth PDF Print E-mail
Observations

Apple logoSteve Jobs is a loose cannon. At least in the eyes of his peers. They don't really like him. They can't seem to run their company like good ole Steve does or at least the way that they want to run it.

You see, Steve has a track record. A record of success. Let's take a look over the past few years:

  • G4 "Snowball" iMac
  • G4 Titanium PowerBook Notebook
  • G4 Aluminum PowerBook Notebook
  • G4 Mac Mini
  • G5 iMac
  • G5 PowerMac Tower
  • G5 Quad Core PowerMac Tower
  • Intel  Mac Mini
  • Intel MacBook Pro Notebook
  • Intel MacPro Tower Woodcrest Dual Core 64bit XEON

Steve Irwin and Family
Steve Irwin Family
In a bizarre, freak accident Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin was killed when he accidentally strayed over a buried StingRay. "He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time. If you don't know who Steve is read this over at Wikipedia.

The here is the official statement from Animal Planet.

Now, the tree huggin', baby killin', homo-lovin', liberals and other Demorats are coming out of the woodwork. It's not a matter of how they say it. It's the specific wording that they use. Wildlife documentary maker Ben Cropp, claims that a colleague who saw footage, Irwin had accidentally boxed the animal in. "It stopped and twisted and threw up its tail with the spike, and it caught him in the chest," said Cropp. "It's a defensive thing. It's like being stabbed with a dirty dagger."

I was not there. I did not see the incident. However, by the end of the week you will be hearing stories about the poor Ray being boxed in by Irwin's invasive techniques. Afterall, do you remember a few years ago when he was feeding aligators in the Queensland Zoo holding his baby son Bob? To prove my point Wikipedia had to ban first-time posters because of vandalism to the Irwin entry.

But in a style, typical of most liberals, they are and will be divided against Irwin and his type (Jeff Corwin comes to mind). Many want to discredit or discredit him for "interfearing" with nature and others want to congratulate him for his education efforts for conservation.

The reason I can make these statements is that I know who these people are and how they think. I was one of them.

End of Mambo PDF Print E-mail
Joomla

Joomla!
Joomla!
Well, at least for me and Dead Armadillo Media. I talked about this split in an earlier blog entry here.

The core developers of MamboCMS decided to split from Mambo to fork the popular CMS into a new project called Joomla!. The explamation point after "Joomla" is part of the name. Not just a punctuation.  With the uncertainty of Mambo's open source status, the core developers believed that they should leave the project.

After careful consideration, investigation, and conversations with several of the core developers, I decided that the best course of action would be to move on with the group. I have alwasy followed the philosophy of the core group and their vision for what is now Joomla!.

Over the next few months as Joomla! becomes more stable (notice that I said more stable and not just stable), I will be moving my various sites over.

The roadmap for Joomla! after 1.0.x is quite interesting. I can't wait to see what is in-store.

Nearly a Year PDF Print E-mail
Observations

ImageIt has been nearly a year now since I last posted. A very long year indeed. And very busy.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Katrina. The most powerfull hurricane to make landfall on US soil. A day that will forever be etched in the minds of all New Orleanians.

I don't actually live in New Orleans. I live in a suburb on the west side of the Mississippi River across from New Orleans proper. We call it "The Westbank". But if you look at a map it's really more south than west but technically it is west.

Personal Matters
Well, I'm back in town. It's a good thing I live on the WestBank (suburb of New Orleans) 'cuz I would not be back. It is going to be a few days for me to get back in the swing. Stay tuned.
