Nearly a Year PDF Print E-mail

ImageIt has been nearly a year now since I last posted. A very long year indeed. And very busy.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Katrina. The most powerfull hurricane to make landfall on US soil. A day that will forever be etched in the minds of all New Orleanians.

I don't actually live in New Orleans. I live in a suburb on the west side of the Mississippi River across from New Orleans proper. We call it "The Westbank". But if you look at a map it's really more south than west but technically it is west.

The church, where I am empoyed full-time, is doing well. Actually, it it doing very well. While many of the area churches struggle to get back a fraction of their previous congregation, we've managed to increase. God has replaced the people that are not returning due to the hurricane or I believe this is because the pastor Pastor Mike Mille is faithful in doing the will of the Father. Plus the church doesn't owe money.

Since my last post, written in sadness, I have took on at least 8 new website projects. 4 of which will be photo essays of the aftermath of Katrina. The essays will be done using 360º x 180º panoramic photographs. I've also taken on 2 new outside church sites (1 , 2 ) and an new internal church site. Those links are also on the DeadArmadillo.com site.

Personally, I still have a broken gable window to repair. But the rest of the house is in good shape. Well, at least from Katrina damage. I had to have the storage shed completely re-skinned. It was wierd. All of the exterior plywood on the shed was peeled up. Still attached at the top of each sheet. It was like taking a banana. Peeling it about 3/4 the way and turning it upside down. Weird.

In the next few days I will be posting man of the blog entries that I had intended to post for the last few months but never found the time or energy to do so. I hope you enjoy.
