A dear friend of mine passed away today. Marty M. He was in his fifties. Had a few small physical issues, but not this. Not something that would cause him to be rushed to the hospital into CCU. It brings things a little closer to home than I would like. No, I don't think I am some immortal teenager, but it does bring that period at the end of the sentence a little closer.

Well, I'm back in town. It's a good thing I live on the WestBank (suburb of New Orleans) 'cuz I would not be back. It is going to be a few days for me to get back in the swing. Stay tuned.

They days are just filled . . .
Finnaly, I have heard news about my brother, Paul. My friend Brian,
who is on the ground doing repairs to prevent further loss went over to
his house this morning (Tues, Sept 6) to find out that he and his
family are ok. His wife and daughters evacuated but returned a day or
so ago.
There are efforts from all over the world. We just got an email from
Juan Carlos Rodriguez at our church, Iglesia Paloma Blanco-Cuba,
bestowing his much coveted prayers upon us and the rest of the White
Dove body.
So far the only good thing to come out in this is the fact that I think I may actually have lost a few pounds.
It's difficult being on the receiving end of this kind of assistance.
As a large metropolitan church we are used to being the ones to do the
assisting. But as time things progress, we will be back on that track.
Which is where I prefer to be.
Many churches were ruined beyond repair. Many will have to be torn
down. Many will cost tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to
repair and make usable again.
But, like Lazarus. We will rise again. Just have to ditch the burial cloth.

I am currently in Evacuation Mode at Pastor Elmer Nugent's in Camden, Arkansas.
I can be reach here at the 1st Assembly of God-Camden or sometimes on my cell. But my email and the WDF BB is a sure shot.
God bless.

Hurrican Katrina 08-28-05 Thousands have left already. But since I take after my dad. I'm going to stay. It's Saturday night and it's about 24 hours before hurricane Katrina hits. I decided to stay put for now. Tomorrow morning we are going to have church service for those that have stayed. I live on a ridge that was formed many many years ago with the development of Mechanicham. Mechanicham is the German development that has since become the City of Gretna from Highway 90 to the banks of the Mississippi River. Plus my house is what is know as a "shotgun" house. A long straight house. One room behind the next. And its foundation is upon raised piers. Cinderblocks. If I get water from flooding in my house. that means that all of the Westbank is under water. I feel pretty safe here. Except for my pecan trees. They are pretty old. Over 60 years. Pecan trees tend to brittle and break easily. But the past tropical storm Cindi cleaned out most of the loose branches. I hope. Over the years I have heard many intercessory prayer worriors pray these fervant prayers for all sorts of things. Never did they pray for someones cancer to appear on some else. Or that tumor leave and gron in their neighbors brain. But in the past I have heeard intercessors pray that the hurricane would not hit us but hit Mississippi. What?! This year has been different. Our intercessors are praying that Katrina hits Texas. Just kiding. They are praying that the Lord kill this hurricane and make inconsequential. Just another summer storm. I'll be back in a day or so to let you know how I faired out. If you don't hear from me, send a boat. RevMark
