Just a Mater of Time PDF Print E-mail
ImageIt was just a matter of time that someone, somewhere would file a lawsuit against Apple over some function, lack of function in, not in, on, not on, etc. on the iPhone.

The lawsuit chronicled over at Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com). So I am not going to go into details. Suffice to say, paleeeze.

A buddy of mine asked me why all the law suits against Apple and Apple products. Well, I could only liken the scenario to that of the Libs (Democrats) and Conservatives (Bush administration). The Haters will continually try to find ways to discredit Apple (Bush) even if they have to really stretch or at worse conjure up bogus accusations and evidence. They know that Apple has a product that is better than ALL of the other products that are out there and they just cant stand it. I dont know why. It must some sort of vitamin deficiency like rickets or something.

I like the iPhone. But I will wait until 2.0 comes out. I mean come on guys this thing is a 1.0 device. NEver before done by ANY company. Give it a chance.

WWDC 2007 is in the Can. So to Speak. PDF Print E-mail

ImageWell, it has been another year at the WWDC. Again another year that I had to watch from the confines of my home office via a QuickTime stream.

But all is not lost. Steve's "Reality Distortion Field" was in full effect during the SteveNote (thats Keynote for you non-Apple geeks). Nothing really earth shattering. Most of which we heard back in January at MacWorld. I was hoping to see some new hardware. But after about half way thru I realized that Steve rarely introduces new iron during the WWDC except when it directly affects the developers. As was the case when Apple went to the G5 and then again with the Intel switch.

The two biggest items for me were the new finder and iChat. Both of which will be release with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard in October.

If you haven't done so already, please view the Keynote and let us know what you think.

Back from the Holidays PDF Print E-mail
I decided that I would skip December because the holidays are usually kinda of rough for me. Now that that is over I can pontificate again. But I am still kind of busy, so, I thought that I would let you guys know about a project that I am working on.

Three or four times a year we send volunteers in to the missions field. I give them a small Hi-8 or miniDV camcorder to take footage while they are out in the field. Unfortunately, they are usually don't know how to shoot good video. The footage I use in commercials, promos, and other projects. The problem is that I usually have to discard most of the footage as it is unusable.

So, I decided to host a series of courses/classes that will teach people how to use their camcorder. From there, we will progress to more advanced topics such as sound, lighting, graphics, and editing. The first class will be "How to Shoot Better Home Videos".  Each class will be about three or four sessions at about two hours per session. Part of the class will also include homework and a class project. The classes will be limited to no more than ten students.

Stay tuned to That DAM Blog and the Dead Armadillo Media home page further info. I may also put the schedule up on the main White Dove site.

Good shooting.
