Crikey! Steve’s Gone

by RevMark

In a bizarre, freak accident Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin was killed when he accidentally strayed over a buried Stingray. “He came on top of the stingray and the stingray’s barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart,” said Stainton, who was on board Irwin’s boat at the time. If you don’t know who Steve is read this over at Wikipedia.

Now, the tree huggin’, baby killin’,  liberals and other Democrats are coming out of the woodwork. It’s not a matter of how they say it. It’s the specific wording that they use. Wildlife documentary maker Ben Cropp, claims that a colleague who saw footage, Irwin had accidentally boxed the animal in. “It stopped and twisted and threw up its tail with the spike, and it caught him in the chest,” said Cropp. “It’s a defensive thing. It’s like being stabbed with a dirty dagger.”

I was not there. I did not see the incident. However, by the end of the week you will be hearing stories about the poor Ray being boxed in by Irwin’s invasive techniques. After all, do you remember a few years ago when he was feeding alligators in the Queensland Zoo holding his baby son Bob? To prove my point Wikipedia had to ban first-time posters because of vandalism to the Irwin entry.

But in a style, typical of most liberals, they are and will be divided against Irwin and his type (Jeff Corwin comes to mind). Many want to discredit or discredit him for “interfering” with nature and others want to congratulate him for his education efforts for conservation.

The reason I can make these statements is that I know who these people are and how they think. I was one of them.

Back in the late eighties early nineties, I was one of those tree huggin activist. I did not support the wholesale destruction of private property like the folks that I was associated with. One of the groups that I hung with was Earth Liberation Front. Back then they were called Earth First! Earth First wanted to go mainstream but some of the original ELF members did not want to abandon criminal acts to get action. ELF, now completely justifies the destruction of private property and some within the group believed, but never acted upon, the notion that taking human life was justifiable in their cause. I believed in neither.  Fact is that many of the people were two faced. Some believed that killing humans for the cause was wrong, but killing innocent babies still in the womb was ok. The fact is that groups like ELF and PETA have done more damage to their cause than helped. On a side note, the US government considers ELF a Domestic Terror group. Calling them Eco-Terrorists.

It’s a shame that these groups will attempt to mare the reputation of good guys like Steve Irwin. But, there are a great many people, thanks to Animal Planet, love him and wont let the tree huggers damage the achievements of Irwin.

I pray for Steve’s family. He is survived by his US born wife Terri, 8 year old daughter Bindi Sue, and 3 year old son Robert (Bob).
