There has been a lot of talk over the past few weeks as to the status of Mambo and possible “name changes”, developer splits, etc.
Currently, there is no name change. The core development team has split over disagreements with the formation of the Mambo Foundation. Click here for more info and a statement from the core developers: http://www.opensourcematters.org/
I feel that after communicating with several of the core developers that split and some that stayed, I believe that it is safe to say that I will be moving on with the new group of developers, as these guys are who what made Mambo what it is today. There is no doubt that this is the correct direction for me and all of my sites. Unless of course component and module selection prevents it.
So, if you see on any of my sites the name “Mambo” being removed and replaced with FKAM (Formerly Know as Mambo), it is because the new dev group does not have control of the name “Mambo”. But you can read all of that at the above and other links.
