It’s Like a Bad “B” Movie

I changed my mind.

I am finally settled at a safe location, away from the destruction that is  the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina: Camden, Arkansas with Pastor Emler Nugent and his wife, Rita and the hospitality of the 1st Assembly of God-Camden.

The trip was very eventful. Sunday morning we decided we would still have service. I go there at my normal 6:30 am. And by 7:30 there were several people waiting in the parking lot to join the service.

There were no choir members so we just use a Brownsville: Revival at Brownsville CD that I had in my iTunes library. By the time the worship service was over there was about 50 people.

Pastor preached for about 30 minutes but then dismissed the people. He decided to not have the 10:30 service. Let me tell you, if we waited any more we would probably be in the mess in Mississippi.

I grabbed all my computers, backups, TV messages that I have not edited yet and took off for home to get my clothes and what ever I could grab. My brother was still going to stay, dumb idea.

I called Pastor and he was going to a hotel in Alexandria, LA and invited me to join him. We met up on the GNO bridge but the State Police made the decision for us as to where we were going and that was not I-10 west. So, we decided to trek I-10 east to I-59 North to Hwy 98 where we to cross back over to Alexandria.

At 4 pm the State Police shutdown Contra-Flow and the State of Mississippi closed I-10 east at the state line because they issued a mandatory evac order. Because of this, the traffic got absolutely horrible. It too 6 hours to go 14 miles.

Pastor got a call from Dr. Lou up at Bellhaven College in Jackson, MS. He invited us to stay there. So off we trek to Jackson. 11 hours later we arrived. I have to say a great big thank you to Dr Lou and his wife for their hospitality.

Monday morning we felt the Holy Ghost urging us to get out of Jackson. So at about 11 am we left to make our way to Camden and Pastor Elmer Nugent’s church, 1st Assembly of God-Camden. By the time we got to Vicksburg, Jackson was out of power.

This is where we are for now. I have re-worked  the White Dove websites to help determinate information about WDF family members , staff, and reports on conditions in the Metro New Orleans area.
